That is exactly what makes AI agents so dangerous for cybercrime: they accelerate attacks, scale tactics, and dramatically lower the barrier to entry for attackers. For defenders, unfortunately, that also means classic signatures are becoming less and less sufficient, because behavior is more dynamic, more variable, and far more automated. Silver lining: attackers using agents will probably eventually create more false alarms than extortion wins. But not today.

The case shows very clearly how quickly the consumer AI market can shift when authorities change the rules: what was yesterday still seen as a viral product feature may be under supervision tomorrow. AI companions in particular are a sensitive area because they simulate closeness, build attachment, and can, in some cases, be manipulated. For developers, this means: if you’re building in this space, you should not only keep prompt design and UX in view, but also policy, moderation, and legal constraints. China is once again an early indicator here – not of technological freedom, but of what happens when regulation gets very close to the product idea.

📉 Nvidia rack delayed, suppliers react nervously

According to The Decoder, Nvidia’s next AI server rack, Kyber NVL144, is apparently delayed by more than a year to 2028 due to manufacturing problems with circuit boards. At the same time, shares of several Asian suppliers fell sharply, in some cases by double digits. This shows how strongly the AI boom now depends on the hardware supply chain: it’s not just GPUs that matter, but also racks, circuit boards, cooling, power supply, and the entire industrial upstream. When such a system stutters, the market reacts immediately. Also interesting: the more powerful Rubin-Ultra variant is said to have been canceled, opening a possible window for rivals like AMD or even cloud providers with their own silicon strategy. For you, that means the AI race is won not just in models, but at least as much in factories, manufacturing, and logistics. Pretty unglamorous, but that’s exactly where the margins are created.

🤖 Tencent launches Hy3 as an open-source MoE model

Tencent is releasing Hy3, an open-source language model with 295 billion parameters in a mixture-of-experts architecture. What matters here is not just the raw parameter count, but that only 21 billion are active at any given time, according to Tencent. That is the classic MoE trick: look huge, compute efficiently. The interesting claim is that it can compete with much larger models while also supposedly halving the hallucination rate to 5.4 percent. Claims like that should always be read with benchmark skepticism, but the direction is right: open source is becoming increasingly competitive for large models and more relevant for production use. For developers, that is exciting because more performance no longer necessarily means more cost. For the market, it means the room for proprietary models is shrinking as open alternatives become faster, cheaper, and more useful.

🎮 Claude Code ports C&C Generals to iOS in 40 minutes

A neat demo from the dev world comes from The Decoder: a Google DeepMind developer ported “Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour” to iPhone and iPad using Anthropic’s Claude Code. The first build was ready after 40 minutes. That’s not just a fun retro moment for RTS fans, but also a pretty good sign of how coding workflows are changing. AI coding tools are now often strong enough to analyze existing software, refactor it, and port it across platforms – at least for prototypes and first builds. That saves time, but it does not replace clean architecture, testing, or human quality control.
